The election will be held on 9th and 14th December for 182 state seats in two phases
New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released their second list for the Gujarat Assembly elections 2017 on Saturday (November 18), which has 36 candidates. With this, the party has declared 106 candidates. There are 13 candidates from the Scheduled Tribes and two from the Scheduled Castes.
The party had announced 70 candidates a day ago. It was named after Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel and State President Jitu Vaghani. Of these 70 candidates, 15 belong to Patel, 18 Other Backward Classes, 3 Scheduled Castes and 11 Scheduled Tribes.
There will two phases in Gujarat to be voted on December 9 and 14. In the first phase, voting will be held in 89 constituencies of 19 districts and in the second phase 93 constituencies of 14 districts. The counting will be done on December 18 with Himachal Pradesh assembly elections.

The names of candidates were finalized in the Central Election Committee meeting of BJP held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Wednesday. Several senior leaders including BJP President Amit Shah and Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani were present at the meeting.
